A day dedicated to wild animals in a beautiful park that also offers lots of fun for children.
The park was founded in 1981 and is from the beginning part of the European Endagered Species (EEP) project, the European programme for the protection of endangered animal species. Animals are best kept according to the most modern criteria and the puppies that are born are reintroduced to the places of origin whenever possible.
When you enter the park, the beautiful colourful and free parrots welcome you. You can go around all the wide avenues for as long as you want. Moving in front of the spaces with environments as similar as possible to natural places, you will find an infinite number of wild animals that you usually see only on television. Admiring them up close always makes another effect, especially children are amazed.
Le Cornelle is the only Italian park that houses the very rare white tiger. This animal in nature is almost completely extinct, it lived in the forests and savannahs of Bengal in South-East Asia. The reintroduction into its environment does not seem possible precisely because of its white coat that makes it an easy and coveted prey for fraud hunters.
Even the largest aviary in Italy found in the park. Really beautiful, the aviary is called 'Tropical Forest', the animals live freely in their natural environment and you enter as visitors to see them up close, passing on a comfortable walkway. The feeling of being able to touch the birds flying around you or walking near the alligators is truly unique.
Several puppies are born every year in the park, from the tiny monkeys to the 'little' giraffe Kenda born in 2008 and Rudolph, the white reindeer boy, born in May of this year.
